Fontannafredda: A Retrospective Tasting

Wine Tasting Series

  • Few wineries in Piedmont carry the history like Fontannafredda. Founded by Italy’s first king in 1858, Vittorio Emauele II, this beautiful estate, nestled in the heart of the Langhe within the commune of Serralunga d’Alba, has been producing wines of magnificent quality since.

Primarily focused on Nebbiolo with vineyard ownership in multiple Barolo communes and MGA’s, Fontanafredda produces wines with longevity, intended to cellar for decades.

This special class is a taste journey through eight wines showcasing Fontanafredda’s historic vineyards and epic vintages, including their Fontanafredda monopole MGA and Barolo Riserva. Some wines have been procured directly from the estate then aged in our cellar for several years.

This session will cover the history of Fontanafredda, as well as, history of the Barolo region, Nebbiolo’s common attributes, and the unique opportunity to taste multiple vintages side by side.

    A light snack is provided.
